i have an accel gen 7 dfi, 383sbc, gt4202 turbo.

If i start the truck up, and i plug the map sensor vacum line in, the idle will smooth out, and then the truck will shut off. what could cause this.

also, i started the truck a couple months back, and the wideband reading seemed correct. now, when i start the truck up the heads up display shows 18.03a/f and the calmap software show 17.xx. and when i would rev it up, it would not move much from there. what could cause this.

by the way, everything is brand new.less the 5 mins runtime.

sounds like the VE table is too lean. You might want to add 20% of fuel across the entire VE table and let me know how it goes.

the truck is horribly rich as is. forgot to mention that. i know the wideband is not working correctly, and i was told it could be exhaust reversion, due to the open downpipe.

are you sure it's rich? If your wideband is correct, you are running pretty lean. Usually, I would expect the engine to run lean when the engine is seated after some running time. I will need more info to know what is wrong with your car.

The wideband was reading correctly before but now I think it is not reading correctly.because the reading does not move much. I know it is pig rich cuz I can't brethe with the truck running. I have to finish my exhaust to be able to rule out exhaust reversion. I'm just tryin to figure out why when I plug in the vadim hose to the map it shuts off.

you really need the wideband reading correctly to see what the engine is doing. if you can send me a log, i can look at it for you

i will have to try and figure out how to do a data log, as i am new to the system, and i will try to send it to you. but what could cause the o2 sensor to not read correctly? could it be because the truck is too rich, and there is carbo buildup? the sensor is brand new, so i cant imagine it would have gone bad.

what i have noticed is that the o2 reading really wont move at all. idle, free reving, etc.

I seriously doubt your wideband is bad if it's brand new. If you plug the vacuum source to the ecu and stall, that's usually an indication of running lean. The only other thing I would check is your battery voltage. Maybe your alternator is going bad.

i changed the ignition tables up, and now i have it running with the map vacuum line plugged in. so, 2marow i am going to see if i put the computer in open loop fueling, if the wideband reading changes much.
